Introducing Bridevember

Bridevember started in 2022 when Lauren and Taelor were both in the midst of planning their weddings in New York City. Both happen to be Black, one is a plus size bride, one is in an interracial relationship. These are two different personalities that came together when they found that the wedding space did not have creators who looked or talked like them online.

They saw a need for change in the wedding and bridal community and wanted to be – and lead – a part of that change. Lauren and Taelor spent many, many hours chatting with one another over dinners and late night calls to create this space for brides who wanted more diversity and inclusion in the wedding space.

so what is bridevember, anyway?

Bridevember is an online social media prompt series used to unite, inspire, and bring together future brides, past brides, bridesmaids, wedding guests, wedding vendors, and beyond on #weddingtok. It’s a month long community-driven challenge focused on making the wedding and bridal community more inclusive! And it couldn’t be any easier to join!

This year, we took Bridevember to the next level.

We have a Facebook and Instagram account where others can join in on the fun! We’ve made it into a place where people can connect with newlyweds, vendors, current brides, past brides, or people who just love weddings. It’s a place to learn tips and tricks, inspire creativity and community, and a place that includes diversity.

We’ve moved from a 30 prompt series to a 10 prompt series which makes it more inclusive and easier for people to join us and we had lots of participants this year!
