The Start of Plan With Laur

When was the last time you faced a big transition?

I’m not talking about changing from Netflix to Hulu or from tap water to a Brita (albeit those are big changes I agree). I mean the type of life transition that changes everything. When feelings of security and confidence disappear.

For me, everything changed in just 4 weeks. I graduated from college, moved out of the South, and moved in with my boyfriend to a city I had never been to before (I visited once during a snowstorm, but I’m not counting it). While all have been exciting new adventures, they have also not gone according to any type of plan or vision I had for myself. It’s not a good or bad thing, just the reality — but it did hurt my planner’s heart.

Now, to clarify. This is not going to be a blog post about how planning “changed my life” or “saved me from myself” I have a wonderful therapist and support network that has helped tremendously and I am still improving. I’m constantly putting in the work. However, after purchasing my planner in July I have been able to implement tips and tricks for productivity that reduce stress and help guide my day-to-day purpose.

In July 2019 I sat down on my couch, alone, overwhelmed and ordered my first Erin Condren Life Planner. Now, I should mention that I was given a Life Planner in the summer of 2016 as a gift after an internship. But I never used it (how silly). So I was truly a planner newbie. With ample time before I started my job in September, I not-so-patiently waited for my first Erin Condren package to arrive. During that time I happened to stumble upon the whole planning community and may have made two more purchases in the process. I believe I watched a planner set-up from Jen Plans which got me hooked!

On a whim, and in the hopes of finding a new community I created my Instagram, and with lots of support, a Youtube channel, and now this blog. I still work a 9-5 in corporate marketing and I’m loving it. But this planner community has made my big life transitions a little easier.

I’m so lucky to be here sharing all things planner related and with the support of this awesome community I see endless possibilities of growth for Plan With Laur. Already, I have made friendships that I would have never thought possible.

I’m still going through this transition. I’m figuring out more about myself every day, and some days are easier than others.  If you ever want to chat or find yourself amidst transition feel free to reach out.

I want you to know I’m always here
